We take great pride in contribution to reducing its environmental impact and decreasing the ecological footprint of the company. Through the implementation of energy management strategies, Brushstone continues to achieve great success in this area.
To date, approximately 95% of our suites have undergone a water retrofit program, which has resulted in a substantial reduction of water consumption. Through this initiative our company has reduced the strain on many major water supply and sewer lines found in any city where we operates. This was accomplished by installing low flow toilets and showerheads, in-turn reducing our water consumption by approximately 10,000m³ per year, or enough to fill 1 Olympic-sized swimming pool.
We also focuses on reducing emissions that are released into our atmosphere when natural gas or electricity is consumed. Currently we have installed compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL’S) in all our buildings, which will reduce the portfolio emissions output dramatically.
Other initiatives such as boiler retrofits, building automation systems have further enabled us to reduce the amount of natural gas consumed, which in turn is good news for the environment. Over the last year we have reduced our electricity and natural gas consumption by amounts that have reduced CO2 from being released into our atmosphere.
Our company is committed to reducing green house gas emissions where possible and will continue to explore further opportunities to reduce CO2 emissions now and in the future. Through the efforts of our staff, office staff, HVAC department and other valuable team members, we are paving the way for a brighter, cleaner and greener future.
